
The CQ DX Marathon
OFFICIAL DX MARATHON WINNERS PLAQUES AND CERTIFICATES!

Magazine recently announced a significant expansion in the number of DX Marathon
plaques to be awarded each year. Presently, the Illinois DX Association
sponsors two plaques – one for the top Unlimited Class score and one for the top
Formula Class score. Starting with the 2011 DX Marathon, plaques will now be
awarded for the following top scores:
Top CW only score – Plaque sponsored by Bencher, Inc.
Top SSB only score - Plaque sponsored by the Collins Amateur Radio Club in
Memory of Art Collins, W0CXX
Top Digital only score – Plaque sponsored by Carroll
D Jensen Memorial K6CDJ
Top Single band scores (10,12,15,17,20,30,40,80) – Plaque sponsor wishes to
remain anonymous
Top Continental scores - Plaque sponsor wishes to remain anonymous
Each entrant in the DX Marathon may submit one log each year per operating
location. Participants submitting logs for single mode or single band entries
must include only those contacts. Logs submitted with multiple mode or multiple
bands will not be considered for mode and band awards. Effective with the 2011
DX Marathon, the following guidelines will be used to issue Plaques and
Certificates.
Plaques will be awarded as follows:
- Highest overall score in Unlimited Class
- Highest overall score in Formula Class
- Highest overall CW only score.
- Highest overall SSB only score.
- Highest overall Digital only score.
- Highest overall score for each of the 6 Continents.
- Highest overall score for single band entries for the 10, 12, 15, 17, 20, 30, 40 and 80m bands.
- Plaques for CW, SSB, Continent and Band winners will only be awarded if the winning scores in those categories are at least 50% of the score of the overall DX Marathon Unlimited Class winner.
- Entrants may receive only one plaque per year. In the case of a participant qualifying for more than one plaque, that participant will receive a plaque for the highest level based on the above order. Plaques may be awarded to runners-up at the discretion of the DX Marathon Committee.
Certificates will be awarded as follows:
- Highest overall score per CQ Zone.
- Highest overall score per Country.
- Highest overall score in the Formula Class 10 watts or less option.
- Highest overall score for single band entries for the 6 and 160 meter bands.
- Plaque winners are not eligible for certificates. Only one certificate will be awarded per entrant. In the case of a participant qualifying for more than one certificate, that participant will receive a certificate for the highest level based on the above order. Certificates may be awarded to runners-up at the discretion of the DX Marathon Committee.
